Data Guardian App Reviews
I have been a long time user of Dataguardian on PC first then Mac and Iphone. The application is great to use. But since a month ago, the application on my Mac crashes upon launch. I have contacted the support but they do not even take the time to answer. Very disappointing! Apparently a version 3.3.3 is available on the editor’s website but the Appstore still offers the 3.2.3, which is more than 1 year old. What are we going to do to solve this issue !!! This is unacceptable.
good app
with this app i hide a lot of extra girl friend pictures from my girl friend
I have been using this for a long time, starting back when it was Password Retrever. I originally chose it, and still love it, for its simplicity. Other password apps require you to make a choice for each entry, as to whether it is a password, or credit card, or bank accoung. The simplicity of this interface is wonderful, and I appreciate that the developer has continually updated it on their website. NOTE: I have to report that I am DONE with this application. It stopped working because the developer said my email was rejecting mail from their server??? In any case, it will no longer work. I wrote to the developer, AND I wrote to Koingo, where I bought the non App Store version. It has been SIX WEEKS and no response from either.
Very bad for the developers reputation to leave the App Stores version of Data Guardian at 2.06, dated back to April 2011, while on developers website the app has been updated 3 times since April and now is at version 2.09. Why are we being left in the dust???
I have been using Data Guardian since it was Password Retriever and Love it! Its the best thing Ive found for keeping all of my passwords and software serial numbers. You can make your own record templates easily and have all the info you need for site logins, serial numbers and many other things stored securely and ready a click away whenever you need them. You can also keep the database on Dropbox or something similar if using it on multiple computers.

Excellent but...
Excellent app but doesn’t automatically save passwords of logins when entered on the Internet. It would be great if it had this feature.
Data Guardian no longer seems to load after installing Yosemite 10.10.3. I’ve contacted support twice but so far they have been unresponsive and, in fact, not acknowledged my submissions.
I have also found that this application no longer works after 10.10.3 update on both my iMac and my Macbook Air. It does work on my iPad and iPhone. The last supplemental update released today by Apple did not help the problem. Like the previous reviewer a request at the website for support has gone unacknowledged for two days. Thank heavens I have my passwords on the iOS system or it would be a major issue for me.
Koingo has been unresponsive so far. Been a week. Stopped working after the Apple update, renstalled…thought it was a corrupted lockbox, so deleted and restored an older version…nothing. Needs to get fixed asap. I already lost some data.
purchased from apple on 5/29/13. Worked fine until about a month ago. Researched through Koingos website, and found out that it may be out of date, with no updates coming from apple. It will not load now. An app this important should have better support. Not happy with apple care. spent several hours with them yesterday, and they have no idea what could be wrong. I believe they knew, but couldn’t say because of recording. Lost all passwords. Need to go to retail version from Koingos direct. Will try apple care one more time.
This software works as you would expect, generally, but while the synchronize to iOS devices feature is nice it sometimes completely loses the file. I just had to restore my iPad Air to get back the changes Id made on it when the entire database suddenly disappeared from it. Theres also some weirdness in the ability to use colored backgrounds for different type records, but thats just annoying. More seriously, the when-to-lock-the-database feature seems to have random effect: sometimes it does and sometimes it doesnt. That needs fixing. UPDATE: Since a week or so ago, it totally fails to load under mavericks or Yosemite. Support is a useless black hole with no response. None of the above problems were ever fixed, either. I’m abandoning this.
Simple & Easy to Use
I use the recent version and it does what it promises with an easy to use interface. My data is safe and I can quickly access it with a single password. I like that it locks when not used for a duration. It could have more features, though simplicity and ease of use make it nice!
DO NOT BUY THIS APP - Terrible Support from this Developer!

Doesn’t work in 10.10.3
Crashes on startup. Data Guardian 3, MAC OS 10.11.4
Usually works OK
